The History of art in Europe

Housed in the Bishop’s palace of Bayeux – built between the 11th and 16th Centuries – the MAHB (Baron Gerard Art and History Museum) offers a chronological visit through art in Europe, from archaeology to Modern Art, and the Middle Ages. As you walk through the different rooms, you will see pieces of archaeology, sculptures and paintings, not to mention magnificent pieces of Bayeux lace. Amongst the finest paintings are works by Gustave Caillebotte, Kees Van Dongen and François Boucher.
