Camping des Bords de l’Aure – Bayeux

Located in the heart of the city of Bayeux, in immediate proximity to the River Aure, Camping des Bords de l’Aure conducts its activities within a comprehensive continuous improvement approach, combining quality hospitality, environmental responsibility, and the promotion of the local area.

Aware of the ecological and cultural richness of its surroundings, the establishment is committed to implementing concrete and measurable actions aimed at reducing its environmental impact, ensuring a high level of service, and actively contributing to local vitality.


1. Environmental Commitment

1.1 Protection of Biodiversity

The establishment ensures the preservation of the banks of the Aure River and the protection of local wildlife and flora.
Green space management is carried out without the use of pesticides or chemical plant protection products, in accordance with sustainable and responsible maintenance principles.

1.2 Responsible Water Resource Management

The campsite implements measures to reduce drinking water consumption:

  • Installation of water-saving devices at water points and sanitary facilities;
  • Raising guests’ awareness of eco-friendly practices;
  • Regular monitoring and maintenance of networks to prevent leaks;
  • Installation of a rainwater harvesting system for watering green spaces, thereby reducing the use of potable water.

As part of its energy performance strategy, the establishment:

  • Is equipped with low-energy LED lighting;
  • Implements automatic shutdown of communal lighting during nighttime hours;
  • Studies and plans the gradual integration of renewable energy solutions.

  • Provision of a clearly identified sorting area at the entrance of the site;
  • Installation of several composting points for green waste and bio-waste;
  • Preference for paperless administrative procedures: invoices and payment receipts printed only upon customer request.

  • Partnerships with the association "les Compagnons" which supports 130 adults with disabilities. Every year, the association cleans the campsite’s laundry;
